Following the terrible attack on London Bridge and Borough Market on Saturday 3 June, Cllr Richard Watts, Leader of Islington Council, issued the following statement:

“Our heartfelt condolences and thoughts are with the people killed, injured and affected by this cowardly attack, and their friends and families.

“We’re once again hugely grateful to London’s emergency services, whose bravery and professionalism saved lives, and who put their own lives on the line to help others.

“As with other recent atrocities, this attack seeks to divide us, and sow hatred. This will never succeed – we will stand together, support each other, and continue. London is a great city with a huge heart, spirit and toughness and will never give in to cowards, bullies and hatemongers.”
