Valerie has lived in Islington all her life, having attended Christ the King school in Finsbury Park. Valerie works in a school but spent the pandemic volunteering at the Elizabeth House Community Centre in Highbury where she is a trustee. Valerie assisted with putting together food parcels, offering support to local people and looking after the most vulnerable when they’ve needed it most. She has also been a school governor in Islington for many years. Valerie is a member of the Council’s Licensing and Housing Scrutiny committees.

Councillor Troy Gallagher 

 

 

 

 

Troy has represented Bunhill  ward  since 2010. Troy has previously  served as Community representative/Board member of  EC1 New Deal for Communities  from 2005-11; first resident chair of the Bunhill Safer  Neighbourhood Panel, Chair of the Whitecross street TRA and as a school governor. Since his election Troy has served as Chair of both Overview/Policy and Performance Scrutiny Committees, Vice chair of Licensing and Planning Committees and was Islington Council’s 2012 Olympic champion.

Councillor Phil Graham

Phil was elected as a councillor for Bunhill ward in 2018. Phil worked as a tube driver and Trade Union Rep for 28 years, and now works for ASLEF as a project manager in trade union education. He is a committee member on Braithwaite House Tenant Management Organisation, and an active housing and NHS campaigner. Phil is also a trustee of St Luke’s parochial trust, and a member of Islington Council’s Licensing Committee.
