Local people put their questions directly to Cllr Richard Watts, Leader of Islington Council, at the latest ‘Leader’s Question Time’ event on Monday 1st July.

Leader’s Question Time was introduced in 2014, and sees the Council Leader take questions from local residents about a whole range of issues.

The events, which take place roughly three times a year, move around the borough, and the latest Question Time took place at the Whittington Park Community Association on Yerbury Road, N19.

Questions were asked about issues ranging from tackling crime and the condition of pavements, to what steps the Council is taking to improve transport infrastructure for cyclists and what support is available for people to help them pay their Council Tax bills.

Cllr Richard Watts, Leader of Islington Council, said:

“Leader’s Question Time is a really valuable event for me, as it’s essential that I hear directly from local people about what issues and concerns they have.

“Once again we had a very interesting discussion, and I want to thank everyone who attended.”

The Question Time was independently chaired by Cassie Moss, Headteacher at Yerbury Primary School.

Details of the next Leader’s Question Time will be announced later this year.
