Councillor Michelline Safi-Ngongo
Councillor, Hillrise Ward | Executive Member for Children, Young People and Families
Michelline has been a councillor for Hillrise ward since 2014, and arrived in Islington as a refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Michelline established the Light Project Pro International (LPPI) charity, based in Islington, in 2004 and previously served as chair of the Islington Refugee Forum (IRF).
Michelline is also a school governor at Ashmount Primary School, and actively involved with many cross cultural community organisations.
Michelline is the Executive Member for Children, Young People and Families and sits on the Disciplinary Appeal Committee and the Health and Wellbeing Board.
