Councillor Ben Mackmurdie
Ben was elected as a councillor for Clerkenwell ward in 2018, and works in construction. Ben is born and raised in Islington and committed to his community; he has served as Chair of his TRA, and has helped to organise youth clubs and Christmas parties for neighbours on his estate. Ben currently serves as a member of the Housing Scrutiny and Licensing Committees in the Town Hall.
Councillor Matt Nathan
Matt Nathan was elected as a councillor for Clerkenwell ward in 2018, and originally moved to London from Leeds. He is the editor in chief of the workplace diversity and inclusion site DiversityQ.com and has worked for The Guardian and New Statesman. Whilst working for the Guardian he also volunteered at Age UK Camden’s day centre and has experience in the sector with the Samaritans and Voluntary Action Leeds. In his spare time, he agonises over the best haircut for his receding hairline.

Councillor Kadeema Woodbyrne
Kadeema was elected as a ward councillor for Clerkenwell in 2018. Kadeema set up her own organisation, Go-Forward, which is devoted to addressing the needs of ambitious, isolated care leavers. Kadeema was appointed as Women and Girls Champion by Islington Council in 2018, and is working towards ensuring that the voices of women and girls are heard in service delivery. In her spare time Kadeema enjoys painting, travelling and exploring new cultures.
