Councillor Angela Picknell

Angela was first elected as a councillor for St Marys ward in 2014. In her day job, Angela teaches English in a sixth form college. Before becoming a councillor, Angela helped to set up her local TRA and served as chair; Angela has also served as a school governor. Angela is currently Vice Chair of Islington Council’s Planning Committee.

Councillor Nurullah Turan

Nurullah was first elected as a councillor for St Marys ward in 2014, and has lived in Islington for most of his life. Alongside his work as a Mental Health Professional and a local councillor, Nurullah is chair of DERMAN, a mental health charity. Nurullah is also Chair of Islington Council’s Licensing Regulatory Committee, and Vice Chair of Health and Care Scrutiny Committee.
