Joseph is the borough’s Mental Health Champion. As a Councillor, he is Vice-Chair of Health & Social Care Scrutiny, and also sits on the Licensing Committee. He has held frontline roles in the NHS all his adult life, currently working as a psychologist in East London Foundation Trust, where he also served as staff governor – standing up for the rights of employees, service users, and their families. In his spare time you will likely find him either playing music, watching a show, or cheering along on the terraces at Arsenal Football Club.

Councillor Hannah McHugh

Hannah is a passionate campaigner for equalities in Islington, and a long time activist for the rights of women, migrants and people without a home. As a Councillor, Hannah sits on the Policy & Performance and Planning Committees. Hannah is also a school governor, and is concerned to ensure Islington secures the best possible outcomes for young people. She is a PhD researcher in Political Theory and also teaches at University College London and the London School of Economics and Political Science. In her spare time, Hannah is a keen marathon runner.

Councillor Saiqa Pandor

Saiqa was elected in May 2022 as Councillor, representing St. Mary’s and St James’s ward. She has been a resident of Islington for 44 years and has been involved with the Labour Party since 2015, having fulfilled various roles, including BAME Officer and Women’s Officer. Outside of her role as Councillor, Saiqa works as a Family Liaison Manager for an Islington charity, where she has worked with the community over the last 35 years in improving accessibility to vulnerable members of the public. Saiqa has devoted much of her career and personal life to closing the bridge between minoritised communities and the opportunities available to them.
